Genesis Spiral
Genesis Spiral is Genesis Studios' four-player co-op horror island, released in October 2026. A crew of Scavengers rides an elevator down through the Spiral Hotel, where procedurally generated floors shift every run and more than ten monsters hunt by sound and proximity. Scrap keeps the elevator fueled and repaired, or buys shotguns, tasers, and tools from the Grub merchant, so every run is a gamble between going deeper and getting out alive. I built the Verse systems that drive a run: the elevator descent and floor rules, tutorials and new-player onboarding, the in-run economy and premium shop, the boss fights, and the high-performance procedural floor system that builds every run. I also led the admin layer: the analytics device network, the accolade system, and an admin panel locked behind rotating two-factor codes.
What I worked on
- Elevator descent spine: floor selection, stall rules, new-player onboarding, Story and Endless modes
- Led the admin layer: analytics device network, accolade system, and an admin panel locked behind rotating two-factor codes
- In-run scrap and key economy, Grub Shop, premium shop, and custom runs
- Boss fights and the high-performance procedural floor system behind every run
Impact
- Four-player scavenging horror with proximity chat, in the vein of Lethal Company and R.E.P.O.
- Procedurally generated floors, 10+ monsters, two boss fights, Story and Endless modes
- Built the Verse run systems, from the elevator spine and economy to boss fights and procedural floors
- Multi-layered admin panel security: rotating codes issued outside the game, strict time windows, no standing access
